Jamesville Beach County Park, Syracuse, NY
Spend an entire day preparing for the Syracuse Ironman 70.3 with Endurance Factor and Syracuse Bicycle on Saturday, August 14th! This training camp will be a challenging training event intended to simulate the stresses of race day: a “Big Day.” It will test your preparation in every way! Geared toward the triathlete competitive within his/her category with an expected finish time of under 6.5 hours.
Tentative Schedule
8:00am-8:30am      Training Day Overview and Swimming Skills Clinic
8:30am-9:15am      Race Day Nutrition Clinic
9:15am-10:00am     Open Water Swim (1.2 miles)
10:00am-10:30am   Pre-Ride Breakfast
10:30am-11:30am   Bike Skills Clinic and Bike Course Strategy
11:30am-3:00pm     Bike Course Ride (56 miles)
3:00pm-4:15pm       Run Skills Clinic and Run Course Strategy
4:15pm-5:30pm       Run Course** (6-10 miles)
**We will run about 1/3 of the course out and back and return to Jamesville Beach State Park.
Training Camp Fee: $99. Includes full day of training and pre-ride breakfast. This is great opportunity for both local and out-of-town athletes planning on racing the Syracuse Ironman 70.3. This roughly 5 to 6 hour training day will give you a taste of what to expect on race day. During the two, hour-long breaks, you’ll have a chance to refuel and learn from certified USA Triathlon coaches. Most importantly,  you’ll also likely discover some things that need adjusting prior to race day, such as pacing, equipment, and nutrition.
Coaching Staff
Doug Bush has a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Nutrition from the University of Buffalo.
He has been coaching endurance sports athletes for 10 years and personally has been involved in endurance sports for 20 years as a cyclist, runner, and triathlete. He has completed eight Ironman triathlons, including the World Championships in Kona, numerous marathons, and countless mountain bike, road bike, and other running races. Doug is founder and Head Coach of endurancefactor.com, an professional coaching organization that specializes in helping endurance athletes of all levels reach their goals through the development of customized coaching programs.
Trish Dugan has a Bachelors degree in Biology from the University of Rochester and a Masters degree in Russian Studies from Georgetown University. She worked as an intelligence analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency for five years prior to focusing her energies on raising her four children. Active in endurance sports for over 20 years, Trish has completed two Ironman triathlons, numerous marathons, half Ironman, olympic and sprint distance triathlons. She is a USA Triathlon Level I certified coach and began working with Endurance Factor earlier this year. Trish is also director of marketing and communications at Syracuse Bicycle.
