COVID-19 Updates 3/14/20
Friends & family of Syracuse Bicycle,
Thanks for keeping our door open. Like all of you, we’re eagerly awaiting a time when we can fall back into group rides, high-fives and a sense of normalcy. Given the uncertainty of the current situation, we want to let you know that we are currently operating regular hours and serving many more of you than anticipated. Should that change, we will update our website and social media accordingly.
We highly encourage you to take a break from social media and the news to go ride a bike and/or teach the child in your life how to ride. It’s one of the only activities outside of the home that still feels normal and the fresh air is great for the mind and body. We may be biased, but there is no better way to practice social distancing than on two wheels.
Our situation remains dynamic and will most certainly evolve but for the time being we will be here for you, with some small changes…
-We are limiting the number of customers within the store to 8. Others will be asked to wait at the door, until someone exits.
-We are providing medical grade gloves for test rides
-We are no longer booking bike fits and rescheduling all existing fits
-Door to door delivery service is now available for service and tune-ups (call to arrange- service times may take longer than our usual 24 hr turnaround due to increased demand and safety precautions. We will provide an upfront estimate.)
-Curbside/parking lot pick-up also available
-If you would like to handle products like sunglasses, helmets, shoes, and apparel, we ask that you please have a staff member assist first.
-Last but not least, we are sanitizing contact points of test ridden bikes and all high traffic shop surfaces, such as door and faucet handles, countertops, etc. thoroughly and continuously.
We are open to suggestions for how to best and safely accommodate you during this strange time.
At this point, we don’t offer the ability for you to shop with us online, but we have had many, many requests. Keep your eyes peeled for that to change in the very near future. For the time being please don’t hesitate to email or call with inquiries.
If safe and legal to do so, we hope to keep ourselves busy working on bikes and preparing for the season ahead of us, when it comes. Riding is an essential part of our lives. It’s good for our lungs, our hearts, and our heads. We want to make sure we can keep sharing the activity that lifts us up, with the community that lifts us up.
All of us over here at the bike shop (Timmy too)
