Cycle the historic Erie Canal, using the same towpath that stretches from the waters of the Hudson River in the east to Lake Erie in the west. These family and beginner-friendly bicycle rides allow you to experience the canal and enjoy canal historians’ stories about the people, places and things that made life along the Erie Canal unique in its day.

Tuesday, July 17th, 6:00pm at the Chittenango Landing Boat Museum. What was once an overgrown canalside lot, now showcases the only remaining boatyard on the canal, as well as a restored canal-side store, full-sized canal boat exhibit, sawmill, blacksmith, and woodworking shops, and visitor education center. Museum grounds will be open at no charge to riders. Refreshments and ice cream available for purchase.

Ride distances: 5 or 10 mile rides heading west toward Green Lakes State Park. Maps and route markers provided.
