Cycle the historic Erie Canal, using the same towpath that stretches from the waters of the Hudson River in the east to Lake Erie in the west. These family and beginner-friendly bicycle rides allow you to experience the canal and enjoy canal historians’ stories about the people, places and things that made life along the Erie Canal unique in its day.
Tuesday, July 24th, 6:00pm at the Old Erie Canal Butternut Dr. Parking Area, DeWitt. View remnants of the Butternut Creek aqueduct and play on the playground at Ryder Park next to the DeWitt Town Hall.
Ride distances: 4 or 10 mile rides heading east toward Green Lakes State Park. Maps and route markers provided.
