REGISTRATION OPENING IN MAY 2014!

Syracuse Bicycle is hosting their 5th Annual Trek Women Breast Cancer Awareness Ride, 5K Fun Run and Duathlon on Saturday, October 4th, at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville, NY. The event aims to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment by joining forces with women and men of all ages and abilities to ride on the same day, at the same time, across the United States and Canada. With over 400 riders last year, Syracuse Bicycle hosted one of the largest event in the United States and Canada in terms of rider participation among over 200 participating Trek Bicycle retailers.  They expect to exceed that number of riders this year.

Participants can choose between three great ride options: a 10-mile family-friendly ride on the Erie Canal Path, a 25-mile or a 50-mile road ride on a scenic, flat loop north of Green Lakes State Park.  New this year is a USAT sanctioned, competitive Duathlon (5k run/25-mile bike/5k run) that will be timed by Score-This!, and a 5k Fun Run or Nature Walk. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Central New York and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

All riders will receive a gift bag, a chance to win fabulous door prizes, and fully catered post-ride lunch by Angotti’s Family Restaurant. On-course support provided by The Rabin Law Firm. Participating breast cancer survivors will receive a special gift from Mirbeau Inn & Spa of Skaneateles, NY.

Why we ride…
We ride for our Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Aunts, and our best friends. We ride for people we know and for people we don’t. We ride to raise money for research and to find a cure. Trek Women proudly supports The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. 100% of the Ride registration goes directly to this worthy cause.  BCRF website:  http://www.bcrfcure.org/about_mission.html

THANK YOU FOR MAKING US THE LARGEST RIDE IN THE COUNTRY IN BOTH 2010 and 2011!
Last year, we had over 400 riders participate, making our ride the largest in the country for the second year in a row out of the over 200 scheduled rides.  Check out photos from the event on our Facebook page!
